11.1 Tuition and Fees

Original Date of Issue: 5/13/15
Revised: 3/15/17

The Board of Trustees sets tuition and fees and reserves the right to change them without notice.  Students should refer to the College’s website and publications for the current tuition and fee schedule.  All tuition and fees are payable at the time of registration unless students are participating in the College’s Tuition Payment Plan.

Tuition

Residents of sponsoring school districts in Delaware County are eligible for lower tuition rates.  Residents in a non-sponsoring district in Delaware County and those residing in other Pennsylvania counties pay the non-sponsoring tuition rate.  Out-of-state residents and international students must pay the out-of-state tuition rate.

Fees

Check Service Fee (non-refundable)

A fee will be charged each time a check is returned by the bank.  A check returned unpaid may be redeposited as appropriate.  A student will be charged a fee on any second redeposited/returned check.  In the case of a check which cannot be redeposited or after a check is returned unpaid a second time, the student may be disenrolled and/or referred to a collection agency for payment.  A student whose account reflects two returned checks will be required to pay by wire transfer, certified check, bank check, or a similar transaction for which payment is guaranteed.

Enrollment Services Fee (Non-Refundable)

An enrollment services fee will be paid by all students and is charged per credit hour up to a maximum of ten (10) credit hours per term.  This fee is for the purpose of funding the costs associated with the admissions application process, placement testing, enrollment and payment verification process, commencement cost and credentials for both degrees and certificates of competency, and where applicable, the evaluation of transfer credits.

Instructional Support Fee

An instructional support fee will be paid by all students and is charged per credit hour.  This fee supports the cost of technology and/or unusual staffing, supply, or facility costs associated with a course.

International Fee (non-refundable)

A per credit fee is charged to students who are non-United States citizens and enter on a non-immigrant visa.

Late Registration Fee (non-refundable)

A fee may be charged to all students who register for courses after the announced registration dates.

Payment Plan Fee/Partial Payment (non-refundable)

A fee is charged for deferring payment of tuition and fees through the College’s payment plan.  The plan is limited to credit courses and is not available to international students.  Payments and due dates vary by term.

Plant Fee

A plant fee will be paid by all students who do not reside in a school district that financially sponsors Delaware County Community College.  Residents in non-sponsoring districts in Pennsylvania pay a non-sponsoring plant fee.  Out-of-state residents and international students will pay double the fee assessed to those students residing in non-sponsoring districts.

Student Activity Fee (non-refundable)

A student activity fee will be paid by all students and is charged per credit hour.  This fee is for the purpose of funding the Campus Life Office and supporting the varied student activities and programs that provide opportunities for social interaction and the development of interests and leadership skills outside the classroom.  Student activities supported by this fee include clubs and organizations, student theater, co-curricular and cultural programs, special programs for students at sites other than the Marple Campus, wellness and recreational activities, intramural sports, intercollegiate athletic teams, and sport clubs.
